Hello! :)

Oooo another creepy crawly to add to our wonderful Morrowind! Heh this one is neat too. It's a Vampire Bat! :) And it's creeeepy. So watch out!.

Vampire Bats are nocturnal creatures, only active in the night hours. They drink blood as a main food supply. Vampire Bats carry many diseases, and are feared.

Note: Vampire Bats were NOT tested in an inclosed, dungeon enviorment. So test them first if you plan on inserting them into any crypts.

Now on to the detailed, and confusing instructions :)

Ok so. In your .rar file you have 1 .tga file. You need to put it into your Morrowind/Data Files/Textures directory.

The .NIF, .nif, and .KF files all need to be placed into your Morrowind/Datafiles/Meshes directory. If you wish to make a directory for Lady E's models, feel free to do so. You place them in it.

You should have 5 new .wav sound files in for the bat. You need to create a new directory in: Morrowind/Datafiles/Sounds/Cre. Call your new folder(directory) bats. Place all those .wav files in there.

Open up TES
Load your plugin
Go to the "Creatures" tab
Right Click on it and choose "new"
Push the "add animation file" button and tell it where death_moth.NIF is.
Check the "fly" button and the "walk". (Make sure no other Movement options are checked)
Type in a "name" bat.
Set it's level and all for what you are wanting to use it for.
Click on AI
Select the "wander" AI pack type and push your delete button on your keyboard.
Go to "add Package" and select "wander"
A configuration menu pops up
For Idle 2 set chance to 30 ---note these settings were
all other idles set to 0 used by me.
Then push the Save button.

If you want the bat to be agressive, set the number by "Fight" to 90
If you want the bat to be passive(lets hope not ;P), set his "Fight" to 30

Hit the OK button.

Now push the Animation button.
Click on the animations and pay attention to the right lower box. You will see "Soundgen" stuff.
What this means is the Moth is waiting for you to tell it what sounds to play for the following sound generation points in it's animations:
Left (footsteps)
right (footsteps)
roar (hits)
moan (general, knockouts)
scream (deaths)
land (when it hits the ground)

Alrighty, so I am going to walk you through how to set the sounds for the bat. First off, save your plugin.

Ok, now go to "gameplay" drop down, and select Sound. It opens up box that has all the sounds for creatures and such. Click on "New". A white box pops up. It wants you to name your sound. Lets call it bat_scream. Click "ok". Now, push the button called "Sound File Name", and go to the directory you placed your new moth .wav files into, and select the bat_scream.wav file. There ya go! Click ok.
You need to load all 3 of the bat wav files just like this one. When you are done with that, continue to the next paragraph.

Now go up to "gameplay" drop down and select Soundgen. It opens up a box that has all the sounds in the game. :) If you are unsure on what you want to choose, under gameplay (you can leave the soundgen window open if you want) click on sound. This brings up a box with all the sounds in it. If you click on a sound it will play it for you.
Ok go through each sound type and I will tell you what sound goes with it for the bat.

Left -bat_left(This is the left flapping wing sound)
right -bat_right (This is the right flapping wing sound)
roar -bat_roar
moan -bat_moan
scream -bat_scream
land -Body Fall Small (sound already loaded in Morrowind)

Alright. Go to Soundgen. Click the button "new" now under the creature drop down select "bat". Under "type" select "left".
Under Sound select "bat_left". There now you just did the sound that plays when the moth flaps it's left wing! Woot!

-->>To put in a new sound make sure you hit the "new" button.<<--

Assign all the sounds to the bat. There should be 6 when you are done.
Left
Right
Roar
Moan
Scream
Land

Once you have placed all the sounds in, hit the "ok" button.

Now place the Bat where you want in Morrowind. :)

But anyhow, hope you like him!
